Yes I got a pro 13" few months ago
awesome for everything especially the running speed but compatibility
U gotta install a virtual platform for running windows then U can
use anything u want as well as using a PC
I am not doing matlab so far so I have no idea but my fds tell me
while connecting to working station some problems will pop up.
For carry on, a 13" pro is really handy u know, light, not heavy at all.
Even air is better while compare on weight, I dont think it fits ur need.
Its much slower than pro, not to mention U use it for IC design or some else.
Man my suggestion is just go for it, u wont regret and u will
somehow make it workable.
Last but not the least, my recommend is always rite mother fucker hahaha.
