Reactions of organometallic reagents
1. as a base (treated with alcohols,carboxylic acids,water,amides, -SH )
R-M + R'-OH -----> R-H + M(+)-(-)OR' (R-M= R-Li RMgBr R2CuLi)

2. with aldehydes and ketones, then water
=====>R-Li R-Mg-Br (strong reductants) form alcohols
3. with esters, then water
=====>R-Li R-Mg-Br (2 equiv) form 3 degree alcohols
4. with acid chlorides, then water
=====>R-Li R-Mg-Br(2 equiv) form 3 degree alcohols
=====>R2-Cu-Li(weaker reductant) form ketones ----->C=O is not reducted
5. with epoxides, then water
=====>R-Li R-Mg-Br R2-Cu-Li (open chain)
form alcohols
