The educational philosophy of Ruth Language School is essentially eclectc.
We have borrowed freely from the best of traditional,empirical,
and pramfmatical educational philosophies.
Since language is an ever-growing organism,our primary approach is one of
learning by doing.
Our teaching methods are proven valid ones-from the simple to the difficult.
Just as a baby at home learns language from the sounds the hears around he
hears around him ,so at school we parctice first simple words and phrases to
learn the rhythm and intonation patterns of English .
After the student becomes familar with some sounds,only then will we teach
the alphabet and more concrete language aspects.
Our goals are to teach several facets of language-speakingwith emphaisa on
enunciation and intonration ;writing,with emphaod on spelling :vocabulary
with emphasias on building clusters of words and on sentence patterns.
To achieve these goals ,we depend on repetition and imitation ,
on acting and doing thought role playing ,and on rote memorization .
These methads reainforce the students' immediate responses.
