對今年的洋基來說, 打敗分區墊底的魔鬼魚一直都並非難事. 今天小王的精采表現 (再加
上對方投手丟出一拖拉庫保送) 更是讓這件事變得和吃飯一樣簡單. 這是洋基今年第七度
打敗魔鬼魚 (比數6-0), 並且將他們的連勝場數推進至四場.
: Wang took a perfect game into the fifth inning and allowed just two hits in a

: Holding the Devil Rays down is nothing new for Wang. He held them to one run
: in 8 1/3 innings on July 8 and was 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA in two previous starts

小王直到第五局之前還是完全比賽的狀態, 直到一支安打使他破功. 不過終場他也只讓魔
鬼魚們擊出兩支零星一壘安打而已, 拿下漂亮的完封勝. 魔鬼魚全場甚至只有一度攻佔超
過一壘壘包. 其實把小魚吃的死死, 對小王來說並不是新鮮事. 就在前陣子7月8日的
那場比賽, 小王也對魔鬼魚投出了一場8 1/3局掉一分的絕佳好球. 他今年面對魔鬼魚兩
場比賽(不包括這場), 拿下1勝0敗, 防禦率更是低到只有1.76

小王是被五局上半首位打者Ty Wigginton敲出安打而破功的, 先前的四局下半, 因為洋基
打了頗長的時間, 所以也使得他在板凳上坐得久了點. 然而, 一旦小王在投手丘上表現穩
定, 我們就知道這場比賽的勝負已經沒有什麼懸念了.

這場比賽洋基有兩個半局攻佔滿壘, 也都順利取得分數. 第一次滿壘出現在二局下半, 當
一個要命失誤使得原本會被雙殺的局面變成一二壘有人, 隨後便延長了洋基的攻勢, 他們
在這局拿下兩分. 第二次滿壘則是出現在四局下半, 在Jeter揮出二壘安打後, 魔鬼魚投
手群開始壞球連發, 在接下來的五個人次中保送四人, 洋基也因而擠回兩分.
: Tampa Bay starter Tim Corcoran walked six batters in 3 1/3 innings. Wang,
: meanwhile, walked just one and threw only 104 pitches.
魔鬼魚先發投手Tim Corcoran只投了3又1/3局, 就丟出六次保送. 相較於此, 小王用了
104球完封, 其中只丟出一次保送而已. (譯註: 我怎麼記得是兩次?)
: Alex Rodriguez started the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and
: Bernie Williams smacked his eighth homer of the season in the sixth to round
: up the rest of the Yankees' scoring.
A-Rod在一局下半的安打幫助洋基先馳得點. 另外, 老伯尼則是在六局下半尻出他本季第
八發全壘打, 為洋基得到錦上添花的第六分.
