今天賽後:

Pitching plans to be decided

Joe Torre said after the game that Ron Guidry wants to stay in a five-man
rotation despite the day off on Monday because that would give the starters
an extra day of rest.

But with Kei Igawa pitching so poorly, it’s something they will talk
about again on Friday.

That spot in the rotation will come up Tuesday. The Yankees would seem
to have 4 options:

Igawa again. Phil Hughes (who is supposed to start for Scranton on Sunday),
Joba Chamberlain (who pitched for Scranton on Wednesday) or somebody else.

The best move might be to skip the fifth starter this time then pitch
Hughes on Aug. 4. Once I find out what’s going to happen, I’ll pass it
along.

That’s it for tonight. Need to head to the airport hotel and catch an
early flight to Baltimore tomorrow.
