Roger Clemens' injury might solve Yankees rotation problems BY MARK FEINSAND DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER Tuesday, September 4th 2007, 4:00 AM Just when it seems the Yankees have too many starting pitchers for their rotation, Roger Clemens' ailing right elbow may have solved that problem. Joe Torre hasn't announced his rotation for this weekend's three-game series in Kansas City, though he is expected to do so before tonight's game against the Mariners. Ian Kennedy, who won his big-league debut on Saturday, figures to start Friday. What happens beyond that remains to be seen, as Torre might slot Mike Mussina against the Royals, as the struggling veteran is 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA in two starts against Kansas City this season. "We know we want to see Ian Kennedy again; I don't think that's any secret," Torre said. "But we certainly need to get Mike involved somewhere along the line, and that's where the planning has to take place. We have to figure out how we're going to go about that." With off-days scheduled for Thursday and Monday, the Yankees can choose either to give their starters an extra day or two of rest or to skip someone, possibly Hughes, who has allowed 14 earned runs in 16-2/3 innings over his last three starts, or Mussina. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.109.231.95
