以下幾篇意思都差不多,所以一起PO: From NYDailynews: Wang OK, gets call for Royals BY MARK FEINSAND DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER Thursday, September 6th 2007, 4:00 AM One day after leaving his start with lower back stiffness, Chien-Ming Wang was feeling fine yesterday. He felt so good, in fact, that Joe Torre has penciled him in to start Sunday's series finale in Kansas City. Torre and pitching coach Ron Guidry wanted to keep Wang on his regular five-day schedule, so they lined him up for Sunday instead of giving him a full week between outings. "The last thing you want to do is get him too strong for his next start," Torre said. The Yankees also wanted to avoid having Wang pitch in Toronto, where the artificial turf at Rogers Centre works against Wang's groundball style. In three starts on turf this year, Wang is 1-2 with a 9.00 ERA. His lone start in Toronto resulted in eight runs over 2-2/3 innings, his worst outing of the season. "The fact that he's a sinkerball guy, if we have a chance to keep him off the turf, we'll take advantage of it," Torre said. Torre won't announce his rotation for the Toronto series until this weekend, although he said that Mike Mussina is a candidate to start one of the games against the Blue Jays. From NYPOST: WANG: BACK IS OK By MIKE PUMA September 6, 2007 -- Chien-Ming Wang gave all indications yesterday that his lower back is not an issue, and the right-hander is scheduled to start Sunday in Kansas City. Wang left Tuesday's start against Seattle in the eighth inning after struggling to get loose, but after applying a heating pad to his back yesterday he said he felt better. "I feel good, no problem," Wang said before the Yankees' 10-2 victory over the Mariners. Today's off day will allow Wang to pitch on a full four days' rest Sunday, letting Joe Torre skip over Roger Clemens' spot in the rotation. Torre had no news yesterday on Clemens, who remained in Houston after receiving a cortisone shot in his right elbow. Mike Mussina was a candidate to pitch Sunday, but Torre said he wanted Wang, a sinkerballer, to start on the natural grass in Kansas City, as opposed to the artificial turf in Toronto next week. From Journal News: No wait for Wang: The idea of having Chien-Ming Wang sitting around for seven days until his next start did not sit well with Torre, who decided yesterday to use his most dependable pitcher on Sunday in Kansas City instead of Mike Mussina. "The last thing you want to do is get him too strong," Torre said. Keeping the sinkerballer off the artificial turf in Toronto was also factored into the decision. Wang left Tuesday's game in the eighth inning with a stiff back. He only threw 84 pitches, and reported no pain yesterday. Wang is 1-2 with a 9.00 ERA on artificial turf. He gave up eight runs in 2 2/3 innings on Aug. 8 at the Rogers Centre. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.109.23.54 ※ 編輯: yyhong68 來自: 140.109.23.54 (09/06 17:01)
