Starter allows just four hits over six-plus innings

NEW YORK -- Asking for the exceptional might have been a bit much. These
Yankees, humbled over the season's first week by inconsistent pitching and
even shakier hitting, would have been pleased by any sort of victory.

北佬，開季的第一個星期打得跌跌撞撞，讓人不敢要求太多，只要贏球就很開心了。

So, though Chien-Ming Wang retired 11 straight Rays before allowing a hit on
Sunday afternoon, the Yankees might have been a bit more interested in the
overall result. Thanks to Wang's pitching, New York overcame yet another slow
offensive day to beat Tampa Bay, 2-0, at Yankee Stadium.

所以啦，就算小王連續讓 11 個 光 打者出局，大家還是對贏球比較有興趣，感謝王，
北佬靠防守贏了這一場比賽。

Offense came in one short spurt for the Yankees, who scored both of their
runs on Hideki Matsui's two-run home run in the fourth. Alex Rodriguez had
doubled earlier in the inning, providing one of the few early baserunners the
Yankees could muster against Rays starter James Shields. They eventually
touched Shields for eight hits in total.

四局，靠著大松井的兩分彈，北佬取得兩分領先，A-Rod 打出二壘安，整場北佬
有八安。

Wang, towing a high pitch count throughout the middle innings, left after
allowing the first two batters in the seventh inning to single. No problem
there, as Joba Chamberlain came on to strike out one and induce a line-drive
double play, ending the threat.

小王今天的球數用得有點多，七局讓頭兩名打者上壘後下場，不過沒關係，喬巴接著
丟出三振，雙殺，化解危機。

Wang threw 96 pitches over his six innings, striking out six and walking two.

小王今天丟了 96 顆球，六局 6K，2BB。

Highlighted by multi-hit games from Matsui and second baseman Robinson Cano,
the Yankees did manage to reach base often on Sunday afternoon, something
they haven't done throughout the season's first week. Those hits didn't
translate into runs, however, marking the fifth time in six games the offense
has mustered three or fewer runs.

大松井和卡農都打得不錯，大家比這個禮拜前幾場比賽有生氣多了，有安打，不過得分
少，球季開始前六場裡面有五場的得分少於或等於三分。
