UPDATE, 5:28 p.m.: Talked to Chien-Ming Wang for a bit. He gets a ride
to the Stadium in the afternoon from bullpen catcher Roman Rodriguez
then gets a lift home from his wife in the 7th inning. Because of the
cast on his foot, he can’t even drive.

“Very boring,” he said. “I can’t do anything.”

Wang is eager to get the cast off in two weeks or so and get down to
Tampa and start rehabbing. He hopes to pitch in the majors in September.

“If I can, I will,” he said. “I don’t want to wait until next year.”
