Fast-forward four months and two injuries later, and the former Major League veteran is starting to make his case to rejoin Washington. The 32-year-old native of Taiwan allowed two hits over 6 1/3 scoreless innings Monday to lead the Double-A Harrisburg Senators past the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 5-1. Wang, who struck out six batters and did not issue a walk, threw 52 of his 75 pitches for strikes in his strongest outing since going on the disabled list July 3 with a right hip strain. He is expected to return to the Majors at the end of July or early August. The right-hander faced one above the minimum the first time through the order. Sean Ochinko reached base when made an errant throw on a play in the second inning. First baseman Mike McDade broke up the no-hit bid with a clean double to center field in the fourth, and second baseman Brian Bocock recorded New Hampshire's only other hit off Wang (1-1) to lead off the sixth. Wang was considered to be the front runner for the No. 5 spot in Washington's rotation headed into the spring, but a left hamstring strain forced him to the Minors instead of breaking camp with the club. He made one rehab start in Class A Hagerstown, another with Class A Advanced Potomac and three more with Triple-A Syracuse before rejoining the team at the end of May. In seven games -- including four starts -- with the Nationals, Wang is 2-3 with a 7.61 ERA. He has walked 14 batters and recorded 12 strikeouts over 23 2/3 innings. Wang then went back on the 15-day DL on July 3. In his first start for Harrisburg on July 13, Wang surrendered three runs -- two earned -- on seven hits over four innings. On Monday, Fisher Cats starter Deck McGwire (4-11) allowed five runs on five hits and five walks over four innings in the losing effort. -- t a ╮ ╭═◢███◣theanswer3 t a h n ◢◣█╰═════════╯◢██ █◤█ ω h n e s ████▌◢██◣ ◢█ █◤█ █ █ ▲e s w theanswer3 ◢█ ███ █◢█ █▄█▄ █ █ ο w e ◤◥◤ ◥◤◥ ◥▌◤ ◥◤█ ▄▄ █◢█ Λ e r 3╰═════════════▆◤══██ ██◤▅▇▇▅▃▁ r 3 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 220.136.69.3 ※ 編輯: soaringfish 來自: 220.136.69.3 (07/24 17:46)
