Plain chest radiographs revealed no abnormality and plain spinal
radiographs revealed nonspecific spondylosis. Magnetic resonance
imaging revealed a posterior epidural lesion extending form L1 to L2.
The lesion was isointense on T1 weighted images and hyperintense on T2
weighted images (Figure 1 A), and demonstrated rim enhancement
around the lesion after gadolinium injection (Figure 1 B&C). The signal
of L1-2, L2-3 disc spaces were also hyperintense on enhancing MR
images while comparing with the adjacent intervertebral discs (Figure 1 C).
Blood cultures and gallium scan were negative. The C-reactive
protein (CRP) level, and white blood cell (WBC) count was within
normal range.
