The concentration of serum albumin decreases during pregnancy.
Late in pregnancy, for example, albumin concentrations may normally be
near 3.0 g/dL compared with approximately 4.3 g/dL in nonpregnant women
(Mendenhall, 1970). Total albumin is increased, however, because of a
greater volume of distribution. The reduction in albumin concentration,
combined with a normal slight increase in serum globulin levels,
results in a decrease in the albumin-to-globulin ratio similar to that
seen in certain hepatic diseases.
即使total body protein和albumin量是增加的，但懷孕時plasma volume大增，
導致total protein和albumin concentration下降。
因此，serum albumin是指濃度下降、total albumin是指產量上升。講義內容是沒有錯的
