The retropharyngeal space is posterior to the pharynx, bound by the
buccopharyngeal fascia anteriorly, the prevertebral fascia posteriorly,
and the carotid sheaths laterally. It extends superiorly to the base of
the skull and inferiorly to the mediastinum.

2.共筆說的spinal cord受到壓迫，就是講義上的"Epidural abcess compression the
theca sac at C6-7"
所謂的theca sac：
The thecal sac is associated with the lumbar spine. It is a sac filled
with cerebral spinal fluid. It is the protection and nutrition to the
nerves residing there.
就是包著spinal cord的東東～
