選(B)會造成兩個動詞的問題
再來，look up是指查閱某項資料
所以中文的查字典，不可以寫成look up the dictionary
我們要查的是『字』本身的意思，而非『字典』這本書
我們只是去從字典中查到這個字的意思
所以查字典應該用
look up a/the word in the dictionary
所以(A)出局
而這類雙字動詞，其後的受詞如果是一般名詞，可放中間或後面
我們也可寫成look the word up in the dictionary
比較特別的是，有些雙字動詞片語，遇到受詞是代名詞
必須放在兩字的中間
例：look up、pick up(撿起)、take off(脫掉)、put on(穿戴)
有些文法書會說因為像up、off、on此時不是當介係詞，而是副詞
至於：look for(尋找)、get into(進入)等動詞片語
就算其後的受詞為代名詞，也不放中間
所以(D)要改成look it up in the dictionary
