Fabio Cannavaro To Miss Italy - USA With Injury
The captain has suffered a calf injury according to Sky Sport Italia and he
could miss the opening match...
Lightening seems to have struck twice for Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro and
he will miss the his side's Confederations Cup opener with the USA on Monday.
The Italian is injured with a calf injury and there are fears he could miss
further games, bringing back memories of Euro 2008 when he missed the whole
tournament.
According to reports, the captain was unable to train on Friday and Italy
doctor Enrico Castellacci revealed he would not be playing on Monday night.
La Nazionale clash with the USA before playing Egypt in their second Group B
match on Thursday in Pretoria.
Cannavaro did not feature against New Zealand on Wednesday and he missed the
6-0 win over local team Tshwane on Friday in the Azzurri's final warm-up
match.
