Living in Montreal is much cheaper than that in Vancouver.
The actual rents depend on what kind of apartment you are looking for.
I pay 999 CAD per month for a three-bedroom (5 1/2) apartment in a very nice
residential area with parks nearby. The rent already includes water,
electricity, heat and parking.

In Montreal city, there are four universities.
French universities: University of Montreal, University of Quebec at Montreal
English universities: Concordia University, McGill University
Not far from Montreal there is another decent university: Laval University.
