On Monday, the Cardinals' new stadium officially becomes a full one.
And, according to team projections, it will remain that way.
Operating at capacity (43,975) for the first time since its April 10 debut,
Busch Stadium will make available approximately 4,000 previously off-limit seats
starting with Monday's game against the Houston Astros. The opening of several
sections beats the team's initial projections by 45 days.
Expanded seating will be found in the left-field pavilion, pavilion box,
outfield loge box and the Casino Queen Party Porch areas.
Pavilion reserved seats, which ring 12 upper deck sections,are the least
expensive at $20 for adults and $9 for children 15 and under. Party Porch
seating, situated on the mezzanine level, is priciest at $42 a head. The
Porch also includes amenities such as a "blackjack bar."
"It's not good to see empty seats. It's going to be a lot nicer to see
Albert Pujols hit home runs into rows of fans instead of empty seats,"
said Joe Strohm, the Cardinals' vice president of ticket sales.
Strohm predicted Friday that the club will sell out its entire home schedule,
something never before done in club history. The Cardinals have averaged
40,282 for 25 home dates. Their 1,007,041 total ranks second in the league to
the Los Angeles Dodgers (1,114,687).
The Cardinals drew 928,329 through 25 dates last season en route to a record
3,538,948 attendance.
For the May 29-31 Astros series, 800 standing-room tickets are available for
Monday afternoon's game; 1,400 standing-room tickets are available for
Tuesday night; and 1,500 seats in the newly opened loge and pavilion areas
remain available for Wednesday's series finale, the club announced Friday.

There is no availability for a weekend series against the Chicago Cubs,
but 3,500 seats remain for the June 5-7 seriesagainst the Cincinnati Reds.
