By Tim McKernan January 8, 2007 Surprising News Regarding Jim Edmonds' Health -Cardinals' centerfielder Jim Edmonds had surgery on his injured left foot this past Friday, and there's a chance that he will not be ready for the start of the regular season. Throughout this past postseason, Edmonds had the foot injected with cortisone so he'd be able to play. Under the impression that the foot would heal during the offseason, a team source said that the Cardinals didn't have Edmonds get surgery. But, when it didn't heal properly, Edmonds came to St. Louis to have the surgery performed. The source said the team is hopeful that Edmonds will be able to play the final 10 games of the Spring Training schedule, but at this point, it's not a certainty that he will be able to do so. Currently, the only players on the Cardinals 40 man roster with major league experience playing centerfield are Juan Encarnacion, Skip Schumaker, and So Taguchi. -- 出國就是為了回國 入團就是為了脫團 (煙~) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 70.246.128.219
