[情報] Cardinals' Miles, Flores become free agents

ST. LOUIS (AP)—Versatile infielder Aaron Miles and veteran reliever Randy
Flores became free agents Friday when the Cardinals did not offer them
contracts for 2009.

Left-handed reliever Tyler Johnson also was not offered a contract after
missing last season following arthroscopic surgery.

Miles hit .317 last season with 120 hits, 31 RBIs and four home runs. The .289
career hitter spent three seasons with St. Louis after two at Colorado and one
with the Chicago White Sox.

The Cardinals played Miles mostly at second base but also at third, shortstop
and the outfield—even putting him on the mound during two games in 2007 and
one in 2008.

Flores was 1-0 with a 5.26 ERA in 43 games last season. The left-hander was on
the 15-day disabled list with left ankle tendinitis, then underwent
arthroscopic shoulder surgery in late September.

Flores came to St. Louis in 2004 and had his best season in 2007, appearing in
70 games with a 3-0 record and a 4.25 ERA.
