[心得] We need a better GM than MO

First, I want to give MO the credits he deserved. Mostly, he knew what
the team needs and he can target the right deals. However, he had a
terrible negotiation skill on the table, which ends up losing us a lot
when making deals. We almost always got robbed. Let me give you examples.

1. Talking about the current deal. We do need a solid starter, even you
count Lohse coming back. Garcia is in his first full season. The team
needs either carefully reduce his working load or do not count him much
in a potential playoff run. Also, we have a loaded OF. With the performance
of Jay, we can give up Ludwick for what we need. But giving up him does
not mean getting rid of him for nothing. What will we get in return?
Nick greenwood, an almost 23 yr old prospect struggling in A ball?

2. Holiday's contract. We needed to sign him last off-season. But was there
a bidding war for him? Look at the huge contract MO handed him. Terrible!

3. Holiday deal. I do not recall other teams trading their NO 1 prespect
along with another two top prospects for a half year rental, even though
we believed Holiday was the right target to land. Got robbed on steet.

4. Derosa deal. No matter how much you needed a 3B, what MO gave up for him
was simply tooooo much. A half year rental too.

5. Lohse's contract. I was OK to sign him. But a one year performance should
not justify his 40 M contract. This was even worth than the Suppan's contract
that Brewers suffered.

In a word, MO is best to be an assistant GM. To be a GM, his negotiation skill
will bury this club in a long run.
