Tony La Russa, who'll go into the Hall of Fame this summer on the strength of his managerial career, has emerged as a candidate to replace Mariners president Chuck Armstrong, reports USA Today's Bob Nightengale. Armstrong announced late last year that he'd be stepping down as president of the team effective Jan. 31. As for La Russa, he spent parts of 33 seasons as manger of the White Sox, Athletics and Cardinals. He's presently third on the all-time wins list. When contacted by Nightengale, La Russa declined to address the Mariners' position specifically, but did say this: "I'm interested in getting to the competition upstairs. I've missed the competition since I left the field. I talked to the commissioner [Bud Selig] about it. It's not a thing where you miss the dugout, but I miss the winning and losing." As Nightengale notes, the Mariners are also considering internal candidates for the position, so this is far from a done deal. Last October, La Russa turned 69 years of age. http://goo.gl/sEnsoe 老拉丟了履歷去水手 不過高層也有可能從內部擢升其他人 -- 作者 eleri (I WISH) 看板 joke 標題 Re: [耍冷] 我最討厭的兩種人 一種是打破沙鍋問到底的人 --
