Cate named best actress

CATE Blanchett was named Best Actress at the L'Oreal Paris 2005 AFI Awards in
Melbourne last night.
The Oscar winner was recognised for her gritty performance as Tracy Heart in
the drama Little Fish, at the awards ceremony at Melbourne's Central City
Studios.
Little Fish star Blanchett was also named the inaugural winner of the News
Limited Readers' Choice Award.
Blanchett was unable to attend the awards because of film commitments.
