Blanchett auctions herself for charity

Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett is offering herself up as a prize for a
Sydney-based charity that is close to her heart.
A lunch for four with the star will be auctioned this coming Saturday at the
annual Oasis Ball in Sydney.
The money raised will be directed to the Salvation Army's Oasis Youth Support
Network, and Oasis director Major Robbin Moulds anticipates the auction "will
break all previous bidding records".
Last year's ball raised almost $350,000 for the organisation, which is based
in Surry Hills and offers services to help disconnected young people get back
on their feet.
Blanchett is also a patron of the Oasis Short Film Competition, which raises
awareness about homelessness and is open to school students.
