Questions abound as Cavaliers approach draft day


With the NBA draft 36 hours away, there are way more questions than answers.

Here are five things on people's minds as D-Day approaches, and five
one-question interviews with some of the top players available.

   expect them to go?

South Kent Prep's Dorell Wright. In 2003, Utah took Serbia and Montenegro's
Sasha Pavlovic. In 2002, Utah took Notre Dame's Ryan Humphrey. In 2001,
Portland took Michigan State's Zach Randolph. In 2000 Charlotte took
Kentucky's Jamaal Magloire. In 1999, Utah took Minnesota's Quincy Lewis.
In 1998 Houston took Turkey's Mirsad Turkcan.

   million left on his contract?

New Bucks general manager John Hammond says he at least will listen to offers.

story from Milwaukee quoted Hammond as saying. "Out of respect for Michael and
who he's been and what he's been for this organization, he's not a guy that

Mihael's been great. Michael has been known as a consummate pro and the short
time I've been here with him in this job he's been that. We have to consider
what's best for our organization, for our team. There have been many, many
great players traded at some point in their careers, some have gone on to be
Hall of Fame players that have been traded."

Just think, LeBron James will have an entire round-trip flight to the Beijing
Olympics to convince Redd what a good idea that might be.

4. What if Denver trades Carmelo Anthony? What if Detroit breaks up its
   nucleus and trades Chauncey Billups and/or Tayshaun Prince?

It will be interesting to see if a second flurry of trades follows the one
that occurred at the trading deadline in February. Fans will be rooting for
their teams to pull off the sort of deal Boston General Manager Danny Ainge
did last summer in remaking the Celtics into a championship team.

Cavs GM Danny Ferry cautions fans not to expect a repeat.

able to make two pretty special things happen. He made all of us look bad.

not so sure it can be duplicated. It was kind of a perfect storm. Give him
credit. He maximized it."

Not necessarily. Though they realize they need to improve the execution of
their offense, they don't seem convinced it's a systematic problem. There
could be some changes in the coaching staff as the summer goes on. But an
offensive guru does not seem to be a priority at this time.
