LOS ANGELES-- When the Cavaliers woke up in California on Tuesday morning,
everywhere were reports of the Los Angeles Lakers' drama-filled blowout loss
in Portland on Monday night.

But while the locals pondered about which Laker might get suspended for a
midgame fracas -- it turned out to be Lamar Odom -- the Cavs had another
reality they were paying attention to: They are now tied with the Lakers in
the loss column as they begin their three-game West Coast trip.

It means they are in position to perhaps earn home-court advantage throughout
the playoffs, especially considering the Boston Celtics, whom the Cavs lead
by two games in the loss column, are now missing five players because of
injury and the Lakers are starting a stretch where they play 10 of 13 games
on the road.
考慮到塞爾蒂克敗場數比騎士多兩場,而且有五名球員因傷缺賽中,而湖人正面臨十三場

Despite the impression the team may put out there publicly, they are keenly
aware of this fact. Especially LeBron James, who is prepared to increase his
playing time if needed to make sure the Cavs finish the month strong. After
visits to the Clippers, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings this week, the Cavs
finish March with eight of nine games at home.

"If playing time has to increase for us to win ballgames because of the race
with Orlando and Boston and L.A., then it will increase," James said Tuesday.
"I have no problem with that because I feel healthy. I have nicks and bruises
but everybody does; I'm comfortable."

James' comments follow a two-game stretch where he looked tired for the first
time this season. In Boston and against the Heat at home last weekend, James
shot just 10-of-30 from the field and averaged just 17.5 points. But James
has been working even harder, increasing his weightlifting sessions and
expanding his pregame warm-ups over the past couple of weeks, a trend he
established the previous few years leading up to the playoffs.

Cavs coach Mike Brown has stuck to his word from the preseason and kept James'
minutes well below 40 a game. Right now, he's at a career-low 37.5. He's been
able to sit James the entire fourth quarter 10 times this season. Perhaps as
a result, James has not missed a game all year.
布朗教練切實遵守季前的承諾,LBJ本季的平均上場時間為37.5分鐘,遠低過去的4X分鐘。

But both Brown and James know about the growing stakes.

"Because we're in position to [get home court], I want to win games," Brown
said. "We bought some time at the beginning of the season and because of it we
have put ourselves in position to play LeBron extended minutes from time to
time down the stretch."

As for last week's stretch of low energy, James admits he was feeling the Cavs
playing seven games in 10 days. So he's also now trying to focus on getting
rest when he can, and likely won't take part in a contact practice for the rest
of the season.
LBJ承認因為10天內打7場比賽,所以他在最近兩場比賽缺乏活力。現在他會特別利用時間
休息,而且在本季剩下時間可能不會再參與有肢體衝撞的練習。

"The second half of the Miami game, fatigue had set in a bit from those long
road trips we had," James said. "I used the day off we had to get some rest
back. Sometimes I like to show I'm human."

時我樂於承認自己也是正常人",LBJ說。
