Recently, Shaquille O'Neal pulled J.J. Hickson aside and this is how
the conversation went, according to Shaq
某天大歐對JJ開示
Shaq: "J.J., you could be Cedric Ceballos."
「JJ，我相信你會成為
Ceballos第二」。
J.J.: "Who's that?"
「他素誰」？
Shaq: (Sigh.)
大歐嘆氣。
J.J.: "I was born in '88."
「別這樣嘛，我1988年才出生的」。
Shaq: "I played with Cedric Ceballos, who never got any plays called
for him but he averaged 20 (points) and 10 (rebounds) and I think you
can do the same thing."
「我曾經跟Ceballos一起打過球，這個人從來沒有專為他設計的戰術，但是他能
打出平均二十分十籃板，我相信你也一定能」。
大歐講的其實半真半假，六呎六吋的Ceballos是一位攻擊遠優於防守的小前鋒
，但他在湖人跟大歐只打過區區
十場球就被交易走了，當然也沒有平均二十分十
籃板。
對LBJ他就更正經
"It's our job to make him a great player," O'Neal said after Friday
morning's shootaround at Conseco Fieldhouse. "I was taught that by the
great John Wooden a long time ago. He said the true definition of a
great player is how you make your teammates around you.
「我們的任務就是讓他成為一位偉大選手」週五投籃練習結束後大歐說道「傳奇

"I'm always having little secret conversations with LeBron. I told him
a couple of weeks ago, 'You know what? I heard somebody say Kobe [Bryant]
would never let his team lose. He has that will. I know you've got that.
Now it's time for you to show that you have that.'
「我總是有些小建議給LBJ，兩週前我告訴他『你知道嗎，我曾聽說Kobe絕對不讓
他的球隊輸球，Kobe有這種意志力。我知道你也有，現在是你展現給大家看的時候』」。
"I'm like the big brother who's been there. He knows I've been there [to
the NBA Finals] six times, so everything I say to him is golden. I pick
and choose what I say to him. Because he's already a great player, I don't
want to be in his ear all the time. So I think about what I say to him,
and when I say it to him, it makes a lot of sense to him."
我就像是球隊的大哥，LBJ知道我六度參與總冠軍賽，所以我提供的一切建議都很
可貴，我對他講的話都經過嚴選。因為他已經是個了不起的選手，我不需要一天
到晚在他耳邊叨念，所以我慎選言語，當我需要提點他時，一定能帶給他很多幫
助。

上一次騎士打進總冠軍戰，隊裡也有一個參與過總冠軍戰的人：Eric Snow
這次同樣需要一個精神導師，大歐在這方面應該很能服眾。
