Cleveland Cavaliers' loss wasn't a matter of the Celtics, but a matter
of effort: Terry Pluto

How does this happen?

How does a veteran Cavaliers team that knows the importance of having a
strong first quarter in a key road game play so weak?

像騎士這種知道客場第一節重要性的隊伍，可以打成這樣。

You can say the Cavaliers lost, 97-87, in Boston on Sunday because they
scored only 15 points in the final period. But it began in the beginning
with the Cavs sprinting to a 7-0 lead in the first two minutes. Then they
slipped comfortably into cruise control, although they'll deny it.What
did the Cavs think? Boston was about to pout because the Cavs scored seven
fast points?

你可以說騎士輸掉第四戰是因為最後關頭他們只拿15分，但一切的開始是開場的7比0
小高潮。接著騎士就開始輕鬆打——雖然球員會否認有這種心態啦。騎士到底在想什
麼，塞隊會因為7分落後就垂頭喪氣哭著跑掉嗎？

Or that the Celtics would quit in front of their own fans because of what
happened in Game 3 -- when the Cavs outscored the home team, 36-17, in the
opening period? What happened to Friday's game plan? That was when LeBron
James took command and the rest of the Cavaliers followed to what became
a 124-95 victory.

But Sunday, James took only three shots in the first nine minutes -- and
two were desperation jumpers with the 24-second clock ticking down. Nor was
he setting up his teammates for easy shots.By the end of that first quarter
, Boston had a 31-22 lead. The Cavs were outrebounded, 13-6. James had zero
rebounds in the first 12 minutes. Yes, he did score eight points, but the
passion and fire that ignited the Cavs in Game 3 was missing.No one thought
James would score 21 points in the opening 12 minutes, as he did Friday.
But you'd expect more than this from the league's Most Valuable Player. For
the game, he scored 22, but shot 7-of-18. Yes, he had nine rebounds and eig-
ht assists, but also seven turnovers.Why dwell on this first quarter? Because
playing a good team on the road in the playoffs often means that a stumble
in the first period can lead to a fourth-quarter fall.

前九分鐘LBJ只投三球，其中兩球還是進攻時間快到硬投，也沒有積極給隊友製造好機
會。第一節打完塞隊31比22領先，LBJ第一節一個籃板也沒抓到，是啦，他得8分，但
是第三戰的攻擊積極性與節奏都消失啦。沒人要強迫你非得一節內得21分，但是身為
MVP球迷可以對他要求多一點。我Pluto為什麼一直靠北第一節，因為攻打強隊客場時，
第一節的挫折常常都帶來第四節的崩盤。

Which happened Sunday.

The Cavs battled from behind all day, catching Boston with 29 seconds left
in the third quarter at 72-72. But their tank was empty for the final 12 min
utes as Boston was fueled by the high-octane fans in green. The Cavs opened
the fourth quarter with four turnovers and two blocked shots. Suddenly, they
were down 84-72 as it took them more than five minutes to finally score a po
int.

騎士整場球苦苦追趕，第三節末追平過，但第四節塞隊有主場球迷助威，反之騎士後
繼無力，騎士在最後一節有一段五分鐘多的得分乾旱。

This easy thing to do is blame Mike Brown. He's the coach. He's supposed to
motivate these guys. But does a veteran team such as the Cavs really needed
to be reminded over and over that Boston would play with desperation? That
the Celtics were embarrassed by the worst playoff loss in franchise history
on Friday?

去責怪Mike Brown很簡單，身為教練沒去激勵選手鬥志，然而像騎士這種強權，真的有
必要跟老媽叨念兒子一樣一直提醒「塞隊會很認真打，塞隊會很認真打，塞隊會很……
」更何況這對手前兩天才吃到季後賽主場史上最大挫敗。

Does anyone believe Brown failed to stress the need to defend? To rebound? To
attack on offense? Of course he did. It's time for the players to take some
responsibility.

真的有人會相信Brown沒去提醒大夥要加強防守跟籃板，加強進攻的積極度嗎？他當然做
了，現在是球員起而行，負起責任的時候。

（這裡省略一段，主題是塞隊雖老還是很強硬，騎士在主場第五戰也不能輕敵，球迷看
這段會很好笑，球員才有必要看那段）

But the Cavs should not have a playoff game where they are outrebounded,
47-33, where they are outscored, 13-0, on second shots and 23-7 on fast-break
points.

籃板以33比47落後，第二波進攻得分0比13，快攻得分7比23的騎士，的確沒資格拿到這
場季後賽的勝利。

All of those stats scream, "You are being out-worked!"

這些數據正吶喊著「你們努力不夠！！！！！！」

And that problem was there from the start.

而且從一開始就不夠。
