[外電] Anderson Varejao重返戰場

Anderson Varejao is back and things have already gotten wild.For the
Cavaliers, that’s a good thing.

Varejao took part in his second practice of the new season Saturday --
and just his second since January, when he suffered a tendon injury
in his foot that required surgery.It meant a lot of sitting, watching
and waiting while his teammates struggled through the worst season in
franchise history.

他參加了第二次團隊練球，這僅僅是一月以來的第二次，手術讓Varejao只能

坐在板凳上看著隊史上最黑暗的球季之一。

But that‘s all in the past, and the 6-foot-11 power forward/center was
all smiles when it came to talking about the present and future.“Just
to be back on the court with the guys is great,” said Varejao, wearing
a practicing jersey and wiping sweat from his forehead. “I’m a little
sore here and there, but I think that’s normal when you don’t play for
11 months.”

The Cavs are thrilled to have him, too. That’s understandable when you
consider Varejao can increase the entire team’s level of hustle, rebou
-nding, defense and general intensity just by stepping on the court.Bas
-ically, anyone who knows anything about the NBA knows that Varejao has
truly earned his “Wild Thing” nickname, his arms and legs moving in
all directions, his untamed curly hair controlled only by a headband.
He is sort of a one-man basketball Disneyland, irritating opponents and
pleasing the home fans nearly every trip down the floor.

不難理解騎士也為大V歸來感到興奮，因為他能將團隊鬥志、籃板與防守提高一

個檔次。基本上有在看球的都知道這Wild Thing綽號的由來，他彷彿有千百隻手

腳，能伸及任何地方，也只有頭帶才能讓滿頭米粉服服貼貼。

Not surprisingly, it didn’t take Cavs coach Byron Scott long to notice
Varejao’s presence. Scott wants to implement more defense, more reboun
-ding and more get-up-and-go on offense -- and he’ll be the first to
tell you a lot of that begins and ends with Varejao.

Scott總教練也知道大V的能耐，教練準備強調更多的防守、籃板、幹勁十足的進攻

（典型的官話，最好是上季啥都沒有這季什麼都有），這些都與Varejao相關。

Scott said Varejao was largely responsible for the increased aggressive
-ness in practice.“The thing I loved about (Friday) and today is our
energy,” Scott said. “It’s been unbelievable. Last year, we didn’t
do a real good job of that -- what I like to call our second and third
and fourth effort. The past two days we’ve done a real good job of tha
-t.”

這段講Scott誇讚Varejao的活力。

As for Varejao specifically?

“It’s fantastic, probably half the reason for the energy,” Scott said,
laughing. “You know Andy. He just brings it every day, especially on the
defensive end. He makes up for a lot of mistakes, because he’s such an
energy player.”Varejao, believe it or not, has also become a real veteran
and someone who will be counted on for guidance. He turned 29 in September,
suddenly making the epitome of basketball youth into one of the Cavs’
senior citizens.But hey, he’s got no problem with that either.

“I’ve been in the league for seven years, and have played with a lot
of these guys,” Varejao said. “I’ve played in Europe. So I’ll be comf
-ortable in trying to help (teammates),be comfortable trying to let them
know what it takes to stay in this league, which is simple -- work hard,
listen and do what you’re supposed to do.”

"我已經打七年NBA了，也待過歐洲，所以知道如何幫助隊友打球更舒服，讓他們

知道在聯盟的立足之道無他，就是認真、聆聽與盡本分。"

All are important lessons that Varejao can help teach, particularly when
the frontcourt also consists of second-year power forward Samardo Samuels
and rookie big man Tristan Thompson.After all, Varejao has been the ultima
te example of those things after arriving in Cleveland in 2004 following
a trade with Orlando.

這是大V可以教導新人，特別是TT與Samuels的經驗，從2004年被魔術交易來騎士後

Now, he plans to add those things and more after a season in which things
were considerably less wild for the Cavs.“I’ve worked on my jump shot,
I’ve worked on my hook shot … on my offense here and there,” he said.
“But the most important thing to me was to be ready whenever the ankle
was ready.”

本季，大V要試著幫助騎士上季一直很不狂野的部分..."我練跳投、練勾射，練這

招又練那招，當然最重要的前提是腳沒出狀況。"

That time is now, and the Cavs and their fans can likely trust what Vare
-jao said is true.His ankle is ready, and therefore, so is he.

時候到了，騎士隊與騎士迷將眼見為憑，大V的腳準備好了，他本人也是。

我也準備好了，準備好看大V在騎士最後的一年。他的傷病，特別是腳的部分，

加上年齡，注定沒有辦法讓他陪著球隊走到重建成功的那天。他應該能單換

到一張2012年首輪後段（20-30）的籤，怎麼樣讓籤位再往前跑，就看制服組了。


＊ Chris Grant跟Scott在前天舉辦的記者會提到，騎士確定獲得延長LeBron

交易時的大型TE，但他們不清楚到期日。後來證實是十二月十六日，大約距今

六天之內。

＊ Baron Davis已經連續兩次因為背部不舒服缺席訓練（但他有來訓練營），

騎士決定是否特赦他的期限不知為何剛好跟TE同一天。要選答案的話，我猜

會特赦，以對等條件交易走他說實話還滿難的。
