[外絮] Doc Rivers can play mad scientist concocting C's combo

前面都在講很多重複的事情，就省略翻譯了。

The Celtics  lost their ability to diversify when Kevin Garnett
went down last year. Without Garnett to re-direct the offense, they lost the
options necessary to take pressure off Paul Pierce  and Ray Allen.

去年KG的缺席讓PP及雷槍的負擔變重了。

Almost six months have passed since their seized-up offense went down for
good during the conference semifinals. Three important changes have occurred,
starting with Garnett’s return from knee surgery.

幾乎要將近半年了，KG回來了。

General manager Danny Ainge also signed the two most versatile free agents on
the market. Rasheed Wallace is big and physical enough to defend the post,
and a dangerous enough 3-point shooter to demand attention. In short, he can
play all three frontcourt positions.

Marquis Daniels provides the same flexibility on the wing. This smooth passer
and scorer - as close to a point forward as the Celtics have had in recent
memory - not only can can play all three perimeter positions, but he also is
a proven defender at all three. He may be big at 6-foot-6, but he can defend
point guards.

The result is countless options and combinations. Glen Davis will go back
into the blocks when Wallace is on the floor. Daniels becomes the perfect
plug-in if something happens to Pierce, Allen or Rajon Rondo . Eddie
House can play off the ball and run to his spots.

They can go small (think Garnett, Pierce, Daniels, Allen or House and Rondo)
or absurdly big (can a Wallace, Garnett, Kendrick Perkins  frontcourt
work against a big team? The answer is no.).

他們目前可以排上類似小陣容(KG,PP,丹丹,雷槍或房子,軟豆) 或是大陣容 (希蛙,KG,

KP類似這種的大陣容)

Wallace sounded jealous of Doc Rivers’ fun when he referred to the Celtics
coach as a mad scientist who gets to experiment with all of these elements in
his laboratory.

希蛙大概對於Doc想作一堆實驗的想法還蠻不是滋味的。

Allen put it another way.

“This is a game of chess, and we can maneuver in a lot of ways,” he said. “
He can move all of us around. Now the coach has his snipers, his tanks, his
ground troops. He has everything at his disposal. That’s what is going to
make it tough for teams. You can throw Paul at them, or Kevin into the
pick-and-roll with Rondo and Marquis. It’s almost like if you do too much,
you’re going to get in trouble.”

雷槍倒是有另一種看法。

"這就像一場棋賽，我們可以用很多方法來測試,"  "他可以移動我們每一隻棋子，現在

教練有他的狙擊手，他的坦克，他的地面部隊。他有很多的資源。而這些將會讓我們的

球隊變更好。你可以讓PP自己打，或是KG去跟軟豆、丹丹作Pick n roll。不過如果

Rivers agrees.

“When you think about lineups, you have to think about who you are going to
take off the floor,” he said. “Paul? Kevin? Ray? You have to be careful.”

The possibilities are endless, but here are a few wrinkles once substitutions
start to go in for starters Garnett, Perkins, Pierce, Allen and Rondo:

UP FRONT
Perkins/Wallace or Garnett/Wallace
Most effective vs.: Cleveland, Portland, Lakers, San Antonio
Rivers was unsure of what the Perkins/Wallace pairing would produce during
the exhibition season, and it’s not a good mix against an athletic team. But
he likes the idea against a big team like Cleveland. Bring Garnett back in
for Perkins, and you have two big guys who can spread the floor and force
Shaquille O’Neal (or a Greg Oden) out to the perimeter. Making Shaq play
defense is a big consideration here, but playing all three at once is akin to
racing a dinosaur against a jaguar.
“That would be quite a lineup, but a little too big,” said Rivers. “You
then have to worry about the 3.”

前場組合：

KP/RW 或是 KG/RW

對哪些隊伍比較有效： 騎士，拓荒者，湖人，馬刺

河流對於KP+RW的組合是不太確定的，而且這對上活動力較好較快的球隊是不利的。

但這組合對於一些內線較龐大的隊伍是不錯的，如騎士。 如果把KP換成KG，那你可就有

兩隻大的可以把像俠客(或是Oden)等逼出禁區。 當然也有種陣容是把這三隻抓上場，

不過這就有點像是恐龍去對上獵豹的賽跑一樣。

"當然那也是一種排法，不過是有點太大，而且你要開始擔心小前鋒的問題了。"河流說。

Garnett/Perkins
Most effective vs.: Orlando, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Miami, Toronto
The Celtics were vulnerable to the so-called deep-shooting big forward once
Garnett went down last season, and were promptly strafed by Orlando’s
Rashard Lewis in the playoffs. Garnett takes away that threat, and in the
case of Orlando, Perkins has become one of the best defenders against Dwight
Howard in the league. Garnett also is a natural for guarding the Mavs’ Dirk
Nowitzki and Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant. Toronto’s Chris Bosh disappears
against him.

KP/KG組

對哪些隊伍較有效：魔術，小牛，雷霆，熱火，暴龍

超塞上一季缺少KG這種大前鋒的遠距離射程，而且在季後賽被R.Lewis的遠程給掃射。

缺少KG，超塞就少了這麼一種武器，而且隊上變成只剩下KP能夠來守摩獸。KG是個天生

的防守專家，有能力讓對上他的德老、雷霆王、暴龍王都消失在場上。


Marquis Daniels/Paul Pierce/Pick a center
Most effective vs.: Washington
This is when the Celtics decide to go especially small. Rivers has
experimented with the idea of Daniels as a power forward and Pierce in his
usual wing position. The Wizards, as athletic and strong as they are, go
small in the so-called 4 and 3 spots with Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler.
This is one way to match their speed. But Rivers will draw a line early on
this grouping.


丹丹/PP/加一個中鋒

對哪些隊伍比較有效：巫師

這算是較小的陣容。而且是丹丹排PF,PP排SF。巫師是具有速度以及強度的，具小陣容

的他們在4號與3號是Jamison跟Butler。 超塞這樣排是可以跟上他們的速度，不過河流

大概也不太會用這陣容。



ON THE WING
Pierce/Daniels/Rajon Rondo or Ray Allen
Most effective vs.: Detroit, Orlando, Denver
Just as Daniels allows the Celtics to go small against a smaller, more
athletic opponent, he also allows them to go big against the bigger
backcourts. That addresses one of the few weaknesses on last year’s team.
The Celtics were hurt by teams with big guards. Rivers is especially
intrigued by the Pierce-Allen-Daniels combination, with the latter playing
point guard.
“Whether we’re going big or small with it, it forces an immediate reaction
from the other team,” said Rivers. “Whenever you can control a
substitution, that’s a good thing.”


中後場組合

PP/丹丹/軟豆或雷槍

對哪些隊伍較有效：活塞，魔術，金塊

因為有丹丹，所以超塞也能夠應付比較小隻、但活動力強的後場，也可以對付比較大隻

，力量型的後場。去年我們對於一些後衛比較大隻的隊伍不是很行，所以今年河流

準備用PP-RA-丹丹的組合來對抗這類型隊伍。

"不管我們是用大或小的組合，這會讓別隊有立即的反應。" "當你可以把替換人員這

件事情做好，這就是件好事。"


Rondo/Eddie House/Daniels
Most effective vs.: Miami, New York)
Rondo stands to be the team minutes leader this season, and as such will
spend more time with the second unit than any other starter. So expect to see
this combination a lot, especially against teams with small backcourt duos.
Unlike last year, when House was forced to handle the ball much too often, he
’ll be free to find his spots in this scenario, with Rondo and Daniels both
able to find him for those quick-hit treys. Daniels may be at his best here,
in the point-forward role. This may also be the Celtics’ best combination
for a transition game.


軟豆/房子/丹丹

對哪些隊伍較有效：熱火，尼克

軟豆理應會在這季上場時間佔最中的，而且會跟一些替補的球員搭配最久。所以預期可能

會常常看到這個組合，尤其是當對上對方後場較小組合得。不像去年，房子今年不需要

常常控球，他現在就比較需要注意出手的空檔，這樣軟豆跟丹丹都比較能去找到他那快速

出手的特色的空檔。丹丹或許最好用的就是這部份，扮演控衛的角色。這就是這個組合

中最好的特色。

畢竟我們目前幾乎什麼類型的球員都有，組合可說是很多很多。

多一些組合，說不定對上某些隊特別有用。

→ piercepaul  :不論身材 可兼打3.4號的大概就是PP吧 不過我覺得溪蛙
