In other news that may be depressing to some Celtics fans or exciting to
others, there are reports that the Celtics HAVE offered a contract to New York
Knicks guard Nate Robinson. The rumor was first reported by Marc Spears from
Yahoo Sports during an interview on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston. No details
of the offer have been released and quite honestly nobody knows how true this
is.

With Robinson’s stock on the rise, the question is just how much the C’s
would be willing to give up for him. CH’s Zach Lowe thoroughly analyzed a
potential Robinson acquisition last month for the C’s. I strongly encourage
you to check that out.

Spears did not specify when an offer was made, or what the exact offer was, but
I think it is big news that the C’s have kicked the tires on a move. Given the
team’s recent injury problems and lack of consistent scoring off the bench,
instant offense in this backcourt is a need right now for the C’s.

Spears did seem to institute that a 1st round draft pick was….or will have to
be part of any offer for Robinson from the C’s to make any kind of move worth
the Knicks while. My question for Celtics fans is would you be willing to deal
that pick for Robinson, along with an potentially useful expiring contract (TA,
Eddie, etc.) for Robinson.

No answer for Nowitzki
Wallace has success, but fouls prompt run

Yes, Nowitzki had 15 points by the half, but “they were a tough 15,’’ said
Celtics coach Doc Rivers, none of them came from 3-point range, and none of
them came easy thanks to Rasheed Wallace, who knows the blueprint for bothering
Nowitzki.

“You’ve got to get in his chest,’’ Wallace said. “Make him put it on the
floor, make him feel uncomfortable with it.’’

But in the process, Wallace picked up three first-half fouls. With 5:16 left in
the third quarter, Wallace picked up his fourth.

Minutes later, Rivers took him out, leaving Brian Scalabrine to do his best to
try to stop Nowitzki from going off.

Doc surprised by Marbury’s China deal

“I did not think he was done,’’ the Celtics coach said before last night’s
game against Dallas. “I thought he still had a lot of basketball still left in
him. I thought someone would actually pick him up this summer. But I don’t
think that web broadcast helped his cause at all. I think he’s going over
there to show he can still play.

“I didn’t know,’’ he said. “I’m very surprised by that. That’s the first
I’ve heard of it.’’
Told that part of Marbury’s goal was to market his discount sneaker line –
 Starbury – in China, Rivers shrugged and said, “He’s a businessman, too.’’

Contrary to what Marbury has told others – that the Celtics offered to bring
him back on a veteran’s minimum contract – Rivers said that scenario was
never going to work.

“We had him for the right amount of time, which was good,’’ he said. “If he
came back he would have wanted to play for more minutes, which is something you
couldn’t blame him for.’’
Instead, according to Ray Allen, Marbury now gets to showcase what is left of
his ability and plot a proper return.

“He can be successful over there,’’ said Allen. “If he can start playing
well, he’ll get teams back here interested in him again. When he was here he
clearly had a lot of basketball left in him. I don’t think he’s done if he
goes over there and shows that he has some game left in him.’’


話說馬大少從來到走，超塞上下沒人對他惡言相向過~
