Glen Davis has a way of easing the pain of Kevin Garnett’s
absence.

When Garnett suffered a calf injury on December 29 against
the Detroit Pistons, Davis assumed the position he has taken
in the past. He stepped into the starting lineup and filled
the void with his hustling contributions.

After dropping the first game without Garnett on New Year’s Eve
to the New Orleans, the Celtics have won four straight with Davis
in the first unit.

Davis is averaging 15 points and shooting 45 percent in nearly 34
minutes over the last five games in Garnett’s place. His improvements
on offense have been noted by the team and he has been praised for
accepting whatever role he is given.

But all that is about to change next week. Garnett could return

And when that time comes, Davis will be ready for his
new role, just like he always is.

he told CSNNE.com following the Celtics' 122-102 win over the
Raptors. “Because I’m on the second team and I play a lot with

Davis had been mentioned in Sixth Man of the Year chatter
before Garnett’s injury. This season he is averaging nearly
13 points and six rebounds in 30 minutes per game off the
bench.

“He’s given us a big spark for us playing for Kevin, the things
he’s given us off the bench as a sixth man, probably the best
sixth man in basketball right now if you ask me,” Paul Pierce said
after Davis scored 23 points against the Spurs on Wednesday. “He’s
doing a lovely job at that. We’re asking him to do so many jobs,
things that Kevin does, asking him to duplicate what Kevin does.
But defensively he’s really given us a spark, offensively the way
he spreads the floor. I just get on him a little bit, when it comes
to rebounding but he’s playing great.”

Davis’ role is about to change yet again, but that’s no
change for him at all.
大寶貝在比賽裡扮演的角色一直在轉換，這卻不影響他對於整支球
隊的幫助
“When you think about it, I’m just a basketball player,”
he said recently. “I’m not tall, I’m not short, I’ve got
short arms, kind of chubby a little bit. But I play the game.
I just play basketball, so that’s the plus thing about me.
I could play whatever you want me to play.”
"當你想到我只個籃球員時，我個子不高，但也不矮小，臂展不長
