One can file this story as the worst kept secret in Boston. Doc Rivers promoted

a man that has been with the team since 2007-08 in various roles. Mike

Longabardi will move up the NBA coaching ladder and become the Celtics

assistant bench coach. The speculation of Mike getting promotion has been out

there since Lawrence Frank left, but the Celtics finally made the move today.


Longabardi is an experienced coach. He has a resume of coaching at Pfeiffer

College, Adelphi University, Lafayette College, and Towson University.  Mike

moved to the NBA and spent five years time in Houston as the assistant coach

and video coordinator, video coordinator, and assistant video coordinator.

The man has a reputation of being a great defensive coach.


Doc Rivers did add that he looks forward to adding to this staff. This means

that he is not done. Longabardi was not named Doc’s lead assistant. Doc may

hold Longabardi in high regard, but maybe Doc is not sold on having him as the

only other guy on his bench. This means that the Larry Brown to Boston rumors

still have some life. Stay tuned to find out who Doc’s top assistant is.

似乎有成為良好防守教練的潛力

不過照筆者說法是，河流並未說他就是我們首席助教，也就是說布朗爺還是有機會來，

這可真是有意思。
