1. Celtics trying to sign-and-trade for OJ Mayo, Courtney Lee

Please please please please pleeeease, let one of these happen!

With Ray Allen's departure and Bradley's uncertain status for the beginning
of the regular season, the Celtics desperately need another guard. O.J. Mayo
or Courtney Lee would be perfect in my opinion.

Last year O.J. Mayo averaged 12.6 points a game for Memphis while shooting
40% from the floor and 36% from three-point range.

Courtney Lee averaged 11.4 points per game last year but shot 43% from the
floor and 40% from behind the arc. Lee also has a good reputation with Doc
Rivers.

The knock on Lee is that he's been on three teams in his four years in the
league.

Personally, I'd still perfer Courtney Lee but I'd be more than happy if the
Celtics signed either player. And I'm betting so would Rondo.

If the Celtics can somehow (and improbably) snag either Mayo or Lee, they
might go from “well, they’re interesting” to “they might have an actual
chance to give the Miami Heat another scare.”

Full disclosure: I’d pick Lee over Mayo. Whereas Mayo has fallen off
considerably since assuming a bench role two years ago, Lee has shown an
ability to thrive no matter what role he plays.
