We’ve spent the last two weeks hearing O.J. Mayo and Courtney Lee rumors. We
’ve also spent the last two weeks scratching our heads and saying, “Um, how?
”
Keyon Dooling and Mickael Pietrus are reportedly pieces the Boston Celtics
could use in a sign-and-trade for Lee. (Boston Globe)
Keyon Dooling and Mickael Pietrus remain candidates to return or be used in a
sign-and-trade to perhaps acquire Courtney Lee from the Rockets, but the
Celtics will have a clearer picture about other teams’ cap space when the
Saturday deadline passes for matching offer sheets.
In other words, the Rockets want a draft pick or two from the Celtics (Dwight
Howard is their ultimate goal, remember) and they might be willing to take on
a couple of crafty veterans to make the money work. Perhaps this is possible
after all, but Ainge still has to be a wizard of persuasion.
