Courtney Lee’s NBA journey has covered three teams in four years, and he is
about to start his fifth season on team No. 4.

until Avery Bradley returns in December. “It’s one of the best 1-through-15
teams I’ve been on where everybody is being cool with each other and on the

“That’s not a knock on any other team,” he said. “I’m sure the goal was
the same everywhere else. But here you can feel it and see it, instead of
just hearing about it. There’s the constant reminders, the constant videos
in the locker room playing last year’s playoffs. The conversations you have
with everyone from management all the way down to the ball boys and the
equipment guys. Everyone is committed to winning a championship.

“Everybody does a good job of coming together. We have a lot of guys on this
team with similar personalities and interests, all with one common goal: a
championship. That makes it easy to give in and forget about being an
individual and becoming a team.”

Lee also has developed a new slant on his friendship with coach Doc Rivers,
his neighbor in Winter Park, Fla.

“I had a respect for him and his philosophy and his strategy,” said Lee. “
Playing for him now, I have respect for him in terms of seeing him hands on.
There’s definitely two sides to it.

“But he’s the same guy. I always have respect for Doc. He’s going to be
one of the best coaches to ever do it. I’m friends with his kids, and we had

Sullinger fitting in

In two preseason games against European competition, Jared Sullinger averaged
12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. He also averaged four offensive boards a game.
And perhaps one of the most remarkable things about his early play is that
Sullinger hasn’t forced his game.

The rookie power forward appears to be perfectly at home in the flow.

“That’s just who I am,” he said. “I just play hard. I don’t search for
the ball. And when you have people like (Rajon) Rondo, Kevin (Garnett) and
Paul (Pierce) who can pass the ball like that, it makes the game a lot easier
for you. There’s a lot of easy buckets that I got, but that’s because of
Rondo, or Kevin making the right pick.

“These guys have been great to me since Day 1, so if I can do little stuff, I
’ll do it,” he said. “As a little brother (to two older brothers) I’m
used to it.”

The bench, more because of injuries and a brief training camp than any fault
of its own, never developed an identity last season.

Rivers, his fingers crossed against a return of the injury bug, believes
there can be a big change in that area now. One of the most welcome sights in
Sunday’s 30-point win over Olimpia Milano was the reserve unit’s role in
breaking the game open.

“I would like to get comfortable with that,” Rivers said. “That’s
terrific. It’s funny, with our team, we’re going to keep searching. Last
year we had to search for the right starting lineup, and this year we have to
keep searching for the right second lineup. We may take a starter and put him
in the second lineup because you get them better, the first lineup will be
fine. We just keep moving guys around.

“There’s so many new guys. The veterans want to go at a fast pace with some
of the stuff, but I keep reminding them that they have to wait for the other
guys to catch up,” he said. “It will be more difficult, and figuring out
the right amount of minutes for each guy. I like our depth a lot and how we’
re interchangeable. I’m a little concerned about the backup point right now.
”

Doc表示這一季很有趣，因為我們要找到場上最好的組合，

但是Doc提醒他們要給新同學時間熟悉，

Doc也說，抓準每個人的上場時間也變難了，
