Boston Celtics attempt to sign Italian forward Gigi Datome

Hello everyone, it's finally July 1st, free agency period! The first report
of our team signing someone and it's some international guy I have never
heard about. WEEI.com reports that the Boston Celtics are the front-runners
to sign Italian forward Gigi Datome. He is a 6'8, 220 pound, 25 year-old
small forward that won MVP in the Serie A Regular in Italy averaging 16.4
points per game and 4.3 rebounds.

I don't know much about the guy, looking at the highlights he looks like Jiri
Welsch 2.0. Danny Ainge hasn't had a great overseas prospect since Semih
Erden. Let's hope he can contribute right away.
