Director Kevin Smith's jagged, satirical follow-up to his independent smash debut, Clerks, Mallrats takes place in that teen sanctuary of teen sanctuaries -- the Mall.
Smith reprises his role as the all-wise, all-knowing Silent Bob, who dispenses words of wisdom like "Men and women will get along much better when one gender realizes that the other gender knows more. Now, which is which, I'm not saying" to hapless romantics, T.S. (London, TV's Party Of Five), and Brodie (Jason Lee, Chasing Amy).
Heartsick and heartbroken after being dumped by their girlfriends, T.S. and Brodie seek comfort and solace in that most restorative of places -- the mall -- where an opportunity for redemption soon presents itself in the lovely form of Beverly Hills 90210's Shannen Doherty.
Will true love prevail? Will the best man win? Or will it just turn out to be another day at the mall? Only Silent Bob knows. But he ain't telling.
