CLIFFORD BACK TO THE BRIDGE

Conor Clifford's loan deal with Plymouth Argyle, which yesterday was
extended until January 22, has been rejected by the Football League.
The League viewed the agreement as a new loan, rather than an extension,
and because the Pilgrims have been made the subject of a winding-up order
since the midfielder headed to the south coast, his registration has been
declined.
Clifford made eight appearances for Plymouth, and will now return to
Stamford Bridge.
