Modric set for Spurs talks

Sky Sports News sources understand Luka Modric will meet with Tottenham
chairman Daniel Levy on Tuesday to discuss his future at the club.
Speculation is rife over where the Croatian playmaker will ply his trade
next season after he admitted last month he is seeking a move away from
White Hart Lane. Modric also shocked Spurs fans by naming London rivals
Chelsea as his preferred destination.
However, the Blues' ￡22million bid for the midfielder was snubbed by
Tottenham and branded as 'farcical' by Spurs manager Harry Redknapp.
Redknapp has refused to put a price tag on the 25-year-old, echoing
chairman Levy's assertions that he is not for sale. However, the manager
has admitted Spurs could struggle to keep him in North London if a
wealthier club comes knocking.
Chelsea are not the only team to have been linked with Modric, with both
Manchester clubs reportedly targeting his services. If he were to leave it
would strike a severe blow to Spurs' ambitions next season after they
missed out on UEFA Champions League football last term.
