CLIFFORD COMMITS

Billy Clifford has signed a new four-year contract which will keep him at
Chelsea until 2015.


A product of the club's Academy who will turn 19 next month, Clifford was
part of the team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2010 and played 13 of the 21
matches that secured the reserve team the national league title at that
level last season.


A versatile player who is capable of playing right-back, in midfield or
wide right of an attack, he travelled to Asia this summer for the club's
pre-season tour and enjoyed his first minutes of action with the senior
side in wins against the Malaysian XI in Kuala Lumpur and the Thai Premier
League All Stars in Bangkok.


He was an unused sub for the Champions League home game versus MSK Zilina
in November 2010.
