Update on the
Mega deal I mentioned Yesterday morning .
- Inter Milan is interested in Carlos Tevez, Lavezzi and Lucas Moura but
need to sell Wesley Sneijder and Christian Chivu, probably send Mauro
Zarate back , loan young Dutch striker Castaignos.
- Chelsea FC is also interested in Lavezzi and Lucas Moura and were
offered the possibility to bid for Sneijder.
- Manchester City absolutely needs to sell Tevez this January and are
closely following the 'Lavezzi' case.
As You recall, Carlos Tevez is wanted by AC Milan on loan + buyout option.
City doesn't see it that way. They rather loan but would like Milan to buy
at at all cost next June. In the meantime, PSG came in and made an
informal offer a few weeks ago but the Argentinean already expressed his
wishes to move to Milan. Everyone thought City would had no choice but to
accept Milan's conditions. That's when Inter Milan pops out of nowhere.
Last Thursday or Friday, Marco Branca (Inter Sporting Director) called
Mancini and later Brian Marwood (Man City). Informal discussions were
held (Including a so-called meeting on Monday) in which Inter offered a
loan + buyout for 23M euros payable in 3 installments but City wants one
payment straight which is not a real issue (Terms could be agreed later)
I repeat this is an informal offer . Nothing official.
Now, the 'problem' for Inter (as Moratti is reluctant to put more cash) is
that beside Tevez, They are targeting 2 other expensive players: Napoli
Ezequiel Lavezzi (who has a 30M euros release clause) and Sao Paulo Lucas
Moura (80M euros release clause) which are
Chelsea's (
Lavezzi + Moura) and
Manchester City (Lavezzi) targets as well.
Their only 'valuable' player and also most expensive one – Salary wise
(6M euros net) – is Dutch midfielder
Wesley Sneijder. Last weekend,
through a 'middleman',
Chelsea was contacted in order to gauge their
interest in the player. Starting bid is set at
30M+. In the meantime,
discussions are held between United and Milan including one 'reported'
meeting on Monday where they met City (Carlos Tevez) and United (Wesley
Sneijder) executives.
Nothing came out of it. So Right now, everyone is
waiting.
Update Sneijder / Wednesday
Wesley said Wednesday he's 90% sure he stays in Milan this January.

Lucas Moura
Inter bid for Lucas Moura was initially 2M on loan + buyout of 17M euros
and revised last month to 20M euros straight (confirmed by Moura's agent).
In order to finance this deal, Inter Milan are willing to not exercise
their buyout option for Argentinean Mauro Zarate (came from Lazio) who has
apparently not convinced the hierarchy and loan the 19-year dutch striker
Luc Castaignos (Bought last summer from Feyernoord ). They could save at
least 17M and put it on Lucas Moura. Nothing official yet for Zarate but
They are talking to a few clubs including Tottenham who nearly got Zarate
last summer .
Things were going fine until Wagner Ribeiro, Lucas Moura's agent (And
Neymar's ) threw a bomb on Dec. 26th telling the brazilian press he
received 2 official offers:
Chelsea's
30M and Inter Milan 20M. (If you
remember, I posted it here). He concludes his interview by saying
NO deal
would able to be closed unless Sao Paolo wants to sell and the 19-year old
requests to leave.
Then, a journalist from Folha (Main paper in the Sao Paulo state. They
were the 1st for Neymar back in 2010) says on the radio that Inter has
increased its bid to 25M last weekend and without even knowing about Inter
bid raise,
Chelsea replies to its initial offer and puts 32M (always last
weekend). On Monday, News again goes out and say Chelsea might increase
its bid. I didn't believe it until I heard yesterday morning that
they
were considering increasing it to 35M which shockingly happened. Lancenet,
which is a reliable Brazilian newspaper, wrote an article on it.
Both teams wants Lucas Moura for January but
the player wants to win a few
more trophies and be selected in Brazil Olympic as a Sao Paulo player.
Some journalists believe a deal could happen now if one team puts 45M,
other believe in June. Personally,
I don't see anything happening until
next December. Sao Paulo has won nothing under Moura and he's always been
criticized for being good but not a winner.
He's being compared to Neymar but Neymar has won the Paulista (Sao Paulo
league) twice in 2010 and 2011 + Copa Do Brasil and Copa Libertadores and
was recently named South American Footballer of the Year.
What has Lucas
done? Nothing except being Sao Paulo top scorer. I can understand the kid.
Lucas Moura ownership rights: 80% Sao Paulo and 20% by him/family. At one
point, Inter Milan was rumoured to have tried to acquire 20-25% of Sao
Paulo's stake through an middleman. Unverified and one key reporter doubts
it. It is suggested that Chelsea is considering doing the same??
It is a clear fight between Inter Milan and Chelsea (until of course Real
Madrid gets in). He, who will get the 1st% on the kid will get him whether
now, July or December and
I have a feeling Chelsea will not stop until the
kid chooses a team.
