VILLAS-BOAS: DECISIONS TO MAKE

Andre Villas-Boas might be able include the Chelsea vice-captain against
Manchester United on Sunday but his captain is ruled out of the game.
Squad news
Frank Lampard's availability following a tear in a calf muscle will be
assessed during training on Saturday but he has a chance of being included in
the squad. John Terry however has not recovered from the bone oedema in his
knee which ruled him out of the Swansea game and will miss Sunday's game and
probably the Everton match next weekend.
John Mikel Obi's groin injury also rules him out of this weekend's action but
the Nigerian midfielder will return to full training early next week.
Villas-Boas hopes Ramires will return for the FA Cup tie against Birmingham.
A decision has yet to be made on who will replace suspended Ashley Cole at
left-back. The choice is either Ryan Bertrand or Jose Bosingwa.
'It is a difficult decision,' Villas-Boas admitted. 'We have full trust in
Ryan's abilities and it is a game of massive importance based on recent
results and the fact we are playing the champions at home. The decision will
be made when we practice strategically for the game on Saturday.
'We went through January when our efficiency defensively improved a lot,' he
added.
'John Terry was one of the most used players during this period and has been
magnificent, him and his colleagues who partner him, so in that sense it is
always a blow. He is the captain, a leader on the pitch and off it and he is
a great player so we will miss him of course.
'We are missing Ashley as well and those are two players are in the top four
of most used players so we will have to make the correct decision. But we
cannot be crying out when we miss players. Man United will miss important
players as well and we have a very big squad which enables to us to approach
the game with belief.'
