Ross Turnbull - 6.0
Had the cigar out for much of the match but could do little to keep out
Yakubu's header from two yards.
Branislav Ivanovic - 6.0
A bit dozy at times but handled the power of Yakubu well enough.
John Terry - 5.5
Athletically headed in Chelsea's opener from open play to register a personal
best six league goals for the season. But looked leggy and unconvincing in
defence, and was embarrassingly out-jumped by Dann for the Blackburn goal.
Sam Hutchinson - 6.0
Deployed at right-back rather than centre-back in his first league start, he
looked composed at times, but awkward at others.
Ryan Bertrand - 7.0
Confident display by Ashley Cole's young deputy. Looked threatening going
forward in the first half and negated the threat of Formica. Equally adept
in the second, when he moved up into midfield following a reshuffle.
Michael Essien - 7.0
Dominated the midfield in the way that he once always did, although if Lowe
and Pedersen were his opponents every week, he could play until he was 45.
Ramires - 6.5
Came to life only in fits and spurts and was unlucky not to get Chelsea's t
hird when his delicate volleyed lob hit the bar. Moved to right-back for the
last 20 minutes.
Florent Malouda - 6.0
Lively and energetic in central midfield but subbed shortly before half-time
in what looked like a purely preventative measure, as he jogged to the bench
rather than limped towards it.
Raúl Meireles - 6.5
Scampered around diligently in midfield and showed Chelsea what they could
be missing in Munich with the emphatically driven second goal.
Romelu Lukaku - Top of the Match - 7.5
Mightily impressive display by the striker in his first Premier League start.
Held the ball up well, created opportunities for his colleagues and looked
threatening when he ran at the Rovers defence. His lively 53 minutes deserved
a goal.
Daniel Sturridge - 6.5
There was more end product from the forward than there has usually been over
the last few months but did not do enough to suggest he should start in
Munich. Guilty of missing two sitters in the second half.
Substitutions
Paulo Ferreira- 6.0
Looked comfortable at left-back after replacing Malouda shortly before
half-time.
Fernando Torres - 6.0
Looked lively after replacing Hutchinson but why was he not tried on the
right
flank rather than alongside Drogba.
Didier Drogba - 6.5
Had a few barnstorming runs after replacing Lukaku but could not produce the
farewell goal on what is likely to be his Stamford Bridge goodbye.
