Cole has only just turned 32 and, though he has a recurrent issue with an ankle, there are no obvious signs of a player in regression. What a full-back he has been, too. The best left-back England has ever produced? Almost certainly 32.Juan Mata Few footballers appear so determined to play as many games as possible: Mata helped Spain’s Under-21s to the European title in 2011 when already a World Cup winner, then took part in the 2012 Olympics, despite having already scored in Spain’s Euro 2012 final win. He has become increasingly prolific in terms of goals and assists, and can drift inside or play a No10 role, vital considering he’s battling with similarly talented team-mates 37.Oscar The cliche related to feet doing the talking is too tempting when talking about Oscar, who sometimes seems to literally hide behind David Luiz in order to avoid the spotlight off the pitch. With boots on, however, the Brazilian has surprised even himself by blending into a Chelsea side full of egos, either by not shying away from mundane tasks such as man-marking, or by executing plays such as that chip against Gigi Buffon in the Champions League 44.Petr Cech Chelsea’s Champions League triumph could so easily have been derailed without the countless interventions of their No1. Last season saw Cech rediscover his finest form: angles were narrowed, spaces cut out, opportunities thwarted with a telescopic arm or leg. The Czech was dominant, determined, and awe-inspiring. Of all the Roman Abramovich purchases, few have represented such value for money as £7m Cech. At 30, he could still be Chelsea’s keeper for years 58.Eden Hazard The Belgian made his debut for Lille when 16 and later became that team’s talisman, as his dashing dribbles, shooting and vision guided the club to the French title in 2011 and twice made him Ligue 1’s player of the year. That he achieved those feats while also being the league’s most fouled player attests to the toughness of a player who is still only 21. Chelsea paid £32m for him in the summer and no one suggests he was overpriced 61.Ramires To dismiss this energetic Brazilian as a mere workhorse would be foolish. Breaking up play is so very easy for him to do but Ramires offers much more besides, such as penetration, vision and subtlety, all of which were memorably showcased by his wonderful lobbed goal for Chelsea at the Camp Nou in last season’s Champions League semi-final as Barcelona were memorably dispatched from the competition on their own turf 79.David Luiz David Luiz was 14 years old when São Paulo dismissed him on the grounds he would not be tall enough. He left his family home for Vitória EC, a thousand miles away. Eleven years later he has a Champions League winners’ medal, having played a heroic part in Chelsea’s triumph in May: the defender suffered a thigh injury two days before the match but played 120 minutes and dispatched his shootout penalty past Manuel Neuer. Luiz has also become a cult hero at Stamford Bridge and a regular in Brazil’s plans for the 2014 World Cup – his partnership with Thiago Silva is one of the hosts’ few certainties. Not bad for somebody once described as looking like a PlayStation character being controlled by a 10-year-old 86.John Terry Easy to dislike but impossible to dismiss, Terry remains a defender of the highest class. Chelsea may have won the European Cup without him on the pitch, but his presence made itself felt as the team fought their way to victory on Bayern Munich’s home turf. The gesture of changing first into his training gear and then into a match strip may have triggered an avalanche of mockery, but it spoke of the spirit of the club’s old guard, who girded themselves for the battle that would finally bring Roman Abramovich the trophy of his dreams. And whenever David Luiz or Gary Cahill play alongside the club captain, each man looks twice the player he appears to be in Terry’s absence ----- 已離隊球員 49.Didier Drogba Since he always played with a sense of drama, it was fitting that Drogba’s Chelsea career would have a Hollywood ending. That said, his role in the Champions League triumph was defined as much by his indefatigable power play in the knockout rounds as it was by his theatrically charged spot-kick in the final. Voted Chelsea’s greatest ever player recently, he has been missed since his move to China, supposedly for the (ahem) challenge 66.Arjen Robben In the last three years Arjen Robben has lost two Champions League finals and wasted the best chance in a World Cup final. The winger epitomises the Dutch tendency to impress technically, before failing when the pressure is on, although he has won league titles in four countries. He remains injury prone, but when Robben is on fire, he is devastating. In March he scored seven goals and collected four assists in three Bayern games -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 60.250.67.73 ※ 編輯: wei7515 來自: 60.250.67.73 (12/26 13:01)
