Elsewhere, Lamisha Musonda played the full 90 minutes as Belgium Under-21s drew 1-1 with Nigeria at the Toulon Tournament. The Blues youngster also played the full game on Friday as Belgium were beaten 2-0 by Portugal. They play their final group game on Thursday against Mexico, but after only picking up two points from their first three matches, have no chance of qualification. http://www.chelseafc.com/chelsea-article/article/3198575/ CHELSEA CONTINGENT SHARE SPOILS IN RIO 02.06.2013 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3201587/ INTERNATIONALS: NIGERIA WIN BUT YOUNG ENGLAND FALL Posted on: Wed 05 Jun 2013 John Mikel Obi and Kenneth Omeruo played the full match as Nigeria kept on course for the World Cup finals with a qualifier win in Kenya today (Wednesday). The winner came inside the final 10 minutes from CSKA Moscow's Ahmed Musa and gives his side a two-point lead in the group with two games to play, the next against Nambia in a week's time. Victor Moses is absent due to injury. Nathaniel Chalobah and Josh McEachran were second-half substitutes as England were defeated in their opening match at the European Under-21 Championships. Italy won 1-0 in Israel, bringing to an end a run of nine straight wins without conceding for Stuart Pearce's side. Chalobah, fresh from his play-off final appearance at Wembley for loan-club Watford, was introduced into midfield with 64 minutes played, replacing Bolton's Marvin Sordell, and did his chances of more action in the tournament no harm. McEachran came on 10 minutes later with Liverpool's Jonjo Shelvey making way. Italy's goal came four minutes later when Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne fired in a free-kick from just outside the area. England had an earlier goal ruled out due to a questionable decision to award a free-kick but the brighter football came from Italy who had former Chelsea man Fabio Borini in attack. He could not make the most of his charging-down of a kick by England keeper Jack Butland when the game was still goalless. Italy's keeper pulled off a good save at the very end to deny Jordan Henderson a free-kick equaliser. England Under-21s' second game is on Saturday against Norway who drew their first match against hosts Israel. Patrick van Aanholt is in the squad for Netherlands Under-21s who are in the other group, and begin tomorrow (Thursday) against Germany. Spain and Russia are the other teams competing with the top two in each group going into the semi-finals. At Under-19 level, Nathan Ake played 90 minutes of a 2-1 win for the Netherlands over Norway. That was in the opening match of a four-team qualifying tournament for the European Under-19 Championships later in the summer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3202751/ INTERNATIONALS: VAN AANHOLT WATCHES AS YOUNG DUTCH WIN Posted on: Fri 07 Jun 2013 Patrick van Aanholt was an unused sub on Thursday evening for the Netherlands Under-21 side that secured a late win over Germany in Israel. The game was their opener in the European Under-21 Championships and the Dutch let a 2-0 half-time lead slip before converting a 90th-minute corner to win 3-2. Spain beat Russia 1-0 in the other game in the group. England Under-21s with Nathaniel Chalobah and Josh McEachran in the squad are next in action on Saturday afternoon, needing a good result against Norway having lost their opener. In the annual Toulon youth tournament in France, Chelsea Under-21 midfielder Lamisha Musonda came on after an hour of Belgium's 1-1 draw against holders Mexico. It brings to an end Belgium's involvement. They won two points from their four group games. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3203507/ INTERNATIONALS: BLUES' BELGIANS ON TOP Posted on: Fri 07 Jun 2013 Charleroi in Belgium saw the most Chelsea players in action during Friday night's World Cup qualifiers and it was the home side who came out on top - Kevin De Bruyne netting the first goal in a 2-1 win over Serbia. The 21-year-old scored a close-range header after 13 minutes which was added to by Everton's Marouane Fellaini, with another header from a De Bruyne cross in the second-half before Serbia, skippered by Branislav Ivanovic, pulled one back three minutes from time. Thibaut Courtois was between the posts for Belgium with Eden Hazard brought on after 64 minutes and Romelu Lukaku replacing De Bruyne with eight minutes left on the clock. Belgium are well positioned to make the finals Brazil. They are guaranteed at least second place in their qualification group and are three points clear at the top after seven out of 10 games. The group winners automatically qualify with the eight best runners-up out of nine European groups going into play-offs. It is not looking good for the Serbians who trail second-place Croatia by nine points with three to play, despite Croatia losing at home to Scotland on Friday evening. Petr Cech added another to his long list of clean sheets as Czech Republic were held at home by Italy. Gianluigi Buffon was the busier keeper and the Czechs hit the post but the Italians, who had Mario Balotelli sent off midway through the second half, survived for a goalless draw and a four-point lead at the top of their group with four games to play. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/e2/4/0,,10268~11994338,00.jpg
Cech Tomas Kalas was an unused sub for Czech Republic who are five points off the top in third, one point behind second-place Bulgaria. At Under-19 level, there was a shock defeat for the Netherlands against Cyrus in their second match in a European Championship qualification tournament in Norway. Nathan Ake played the whole of a 1-0 defeat but with the Dutch having beaten the host nation in their opener, all four teams now have three points with the Chelsea youngster and his team-mates to play Germany on Monday. Italy and Israel, the group's other teams, face each other later this evening, with the final round of Group A fixtures taking place on Tuesday. Chelsea's Patrick van Aanholt will hope to be involved tomorrow when his Netherlands side take on Russia in Jerusalem. http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3204187/ INTERNATIONALS: CHALOBAH STARTS AS ENGLAND EXIT EUROS Posted on: Sat 08 Jun 2013 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3204253/ AFRICA TRIUMPH IN ESSIEN'S GAME OF HOPE Posted on: Sat 08 Jun 2013 The Africa XI beat the World XI 4-2 in an entertaining encounter at Michael Essien's Game of Hope and Inspiration in Ghana on Saturday afternoon. Chelsea were of course well represented, with appearances from Florent Malouda, Ricardo Carvalho, Michael Ballack, Geremi, Jody Morris and youngsters Jamal Blackman and Jeffrey Bruma as well as Essien, and it was the hosts who were celebrating at the end, having taken an early lead and rarely looking back. Marcel Desailly watched on from the African XI bench. Before the game, both sides emerged to warm up in blistering heat to a huge reception from the Ghanaian fans, drowning out the blaring music that would remain until kick-off, replaced then by the sound of various bands in the stands of the Accra Sports Stadium. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/4f/c/0,,10268~11996239,00.jpg
Ballack addresses the crowd Seven players with Chelsea links began the game, and it was in his typical style that Carvalho almost opened the scoring, winning the ball deep before releasing it and continuing his run forward before latching onto a Ballack through ball, and lifting it over Africa XI goalkeeper Richard Kingson, but not with enough power to prevent the goalkeeper retrieving the loose ball. At the other end Blackman saved from Jay-Jay Okocha, who shortly afterwards unleashed a dipping volley that dropped just over the bar. The Nigerian was also keen to show he had retained his box of tricks despite his retirement. The game was being played in a fantastic spirit, at far from a Premier League pace. There were laughs all round when former Bayern Munich defender Samuel Kuffour dived into a challenge with Florent Malouda, who was sharp enough to jump out of the way. The Africans were given a harsh penalty by a referee far too far away to see Blackman win the ball at Emmanuel Adebayor's feet, but, on home soil, they were always likely to get the breaks. Essien stepped up, and calmly sent the young goalkeeper the wrong way, sending thousands of locals into rapture. The World XI quickly levelled when French international team-mates Malouda and Djibril Cisse linked up, the latter slotting low into the bottom corner, but the Africans were almost immediately back in front when Blackman was lobbed from just outside the area. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/52/c/0,,10268~11996242,00.jpg
Carvalho tackles Adebayor as Bruma watches on Emmanuel Adebayor then walked the ball around the goalkeeper after a World defensive mix-up, but allowed Okocha to finish as the hosts took control with a third before the break. After half-time Cisse saw his chip drop just over and Lomana Lua-Lua hit the side netting as the visitors tried to find a way back into the game. Malouda was chopped by Geremi in another comical incident, before Adebayor slammed a shot against the crossbar after some fine footwork inside the box. The World side did pull one back through Danish forward Thomas Dalgaard, who shot powerfully into the bottom corner after beating the offside trap, but the comeback was once again short-lived. Harminu Dramani had only been on as a sub briefly, but he soon made an impact, turning his man and smashing low beyond Blackman to regain a two-goal advantage. That was the way it would end, fittingly, with an African victory on a tremendous afternoon for the continent. 馬塔自己也有一次黃金機會,但最 終未能取得進球 before Valencia's Roberto Soldado, who replaced Torres on the hour, twice hit the post in the second half, Haiti goal's coming between those two unsuccessful attempts. http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3204922/ INTERNATIONALS: OSCAR ON TARGET AS BRAZIL BEAT FRANCE Posted on: Sun 09 Jun 2013 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3205912/ INTERNATIONALS: VICTORY FOR AKE AS DUTCH LEAVE IT LATE Posted on: Mon 10 Jun 2013 Nathan Ake was part of the Netherlands Under-19 team that qualified in dramatic circumstances on Monday evening for the European Championship finals for that age group. The 18-year-old has been in the Dutch midfield throughout a four-team elite qualification tournament this past week but having beaten the host nation Norway in their opener, Ake and his colleagues surprising lost to Cyprus and going into the final games all the sides were level on three points. The Dutch faced the significant challenge of Germany and in stoppage time at the end of the 90 minutes were drawing 0-0. With Norway Under-19s 3-0 up against Cyprus, the hosts were going through, but a 92nd-minute winner from substitute Thom Haye beat the Germans, sending Netherlands into the finals due to their head-to-head result against Norway.
