during my stay in U. Chicago (1998-2002), I have never been mugged
on the street. (I usually go home between 3-5AM.) Pierce Hall is
very close to to the campus and the police station (56th and Ellis),
and must be pretty safe. Hyde Park is not the gangsta heaven as it was
20-30 years ago.
