[外電] Reliable Thomas ably replaces Noah again

MINNEAPOLIS -- With the Minnesota Timberwolves double-teaming Carlos Boozer
early during Wednesday night's game, Chicago Bulls big man Kurt Thomas stepped
up and knocked down three first-quarter jumpers.

Thomas battled foul trouble and didn't score again. But it didn't matter. The
veteran had done his job -- again -- and responded when called upon to start
for the injured Joakim Noah despite not playing much recently.

"You can always count on Kurt," coach Tom Thibodeau said after a 108-91 Bulls'
victory. "Our bench has done a very good job for us all year. The more we play
them, the more rest for our starters. That's always good. We have a lot of
confidence in them. Every time we have an injury, the guys who step in are
always ready.

"Kurt was terrific. When he has stepped in previously, he has anchored our
defense and played well. We count on everybody."

The Bulls improved to 24-8 without Noah. The starting center said he would test
his sprained right ankle at Thursday's practice and Friday's morning
shootaround but that it was too early to determine if he'd be able to play
Friday against the Pistons.


Noah腳很腫!
"My ankle is really swollen and painful," Noah said. "I tried to warm up
(Wednesday) and I couldn't cut or anything like that. I'm trying to take it
day-by-day."
