感謝你的補充，你講的沒有錯，基督教裡面的 deification 一般都是指透過恩
典在靈魂能力上的改變，而不是本質上變成神。在西方雖然不用 Theosis 這
個詞彙，但他們會用contemplatio 這個相近的拉丁文，其意義有時後也是成神
，而不完全只是沈思冥想而已。
但 Theosis 在國內的學術期刊上的確是翻譯成「成神」或「成神論」，因為在
希臘文中的本意就是「神化」，會有 energy 和 essence 的分類其實只是神
學上的文字遊戲，而且在定義上還東西有別，東方的 energy 在西方看來是
essence，兩邊還為此吵了一架。
(這東西可以看 Gregory of Palama 或 Symon of the new theologian 的著作，
不過我跟他們不太熟 )
大部分時候，神秘主義的作者只會寫 deification ，而不會加註 "deification
in energies" 或 "deification in essence" (就像他們只會用 unity 而不會
用 unity in grace 一樣)，只有碰到宗教法庭要來燒書挑語病的時候才會趕緊在
著作後面加註，避免變成燃料棒 :P
不過我個人認為，基督教中的 deification 不應該只是簡化成道德行為上的聖化
生活，他還包括許多靈修上實際會碰到的宗教經驗。
從神秘主義的文獻上來看，我們會發現，強迫這些人去分辨他們的經驗是
deification in energy 而不是 deification in essence 其實往往只是神學家對
這些經驗所做後設的解釋而已。
( 就好像你怎麼分辨蘋果是本質上的甜，而果汁是 energy 上的甜呢 :) )
