只要在cochrane library上隨便翻一下就有很多meta-analysis
醫學研究都是
1. 先提出無害的證據
2. 再提出有效的證據
這樣才能證明某種治療有效
假如:
缺1. 治療有害
缺2. 治療無效
1和2 都有: 治療有效
不會有第4個結論
這篇論文的結論(借用a大的翻譯)
此研究結果模擬兩可且充滿不確定
雖然有些個案顯示代禱確實帶來正面的效果，
不過由大部分的案例與現有證據來看是既不會支持但也不反對使用代禱
無法證明有效，這不就是無效的意思嗎？還是a大覺得是有害的意思？
寫論文和一般寫文章不一樣，寫出來的東西都要負責任
做研究都有一定的限制，可以不管有效無效，論文的結論一般都不會寫死。
這篇的結論: These findings are equivocal...
這就是間接表達無效的意思
我在cochrane library上找到這篇，結論也是類似的寫法

There is no evidence that using tap water to cleanse acute wounds in adults
increases infection and some evidence that it reduces it. However there is
not strong evidence that cleansing wounds per se increases healing or reduces
infection. In the absence of potable tap water, boiled and cooled water as
well as distilled water can be used as wound cleansing agents.
