"These three are one substance, not one person; and it is said, 'I and my
Father are one' in respect not of the singularity of number but the unity of
the substance."
所以特土良用 theos estin en 而不是theos estin eis(希臘文我打不出來...)
這兩個有點難區別，硬要翻的話前面的應該比較接近one, mono-，
對於one後面的東西有所保留，
後面的比較接近singular。
不過特土良另一個的貢獻是開始注意到immanence以及economy的不同。
The very names "Father" and "Son" indicate the distinction of personality.
The Father is one, the Son is one, and the Spirit is one (Adv. Praxeam, ix).
The Son is distinct from the Father, and the Spirit from both the Father and
the Son (Adv. Praxeam, xxv).
從這裡已經看的出來銜接到奧古斯丁了。

在當代對於奧古斯丁的意見比較偏向聖靈論，
基本上到了奧古斯丁，三一論就已經頗為成熟，
畢竟之後的一千多年也是follow他的意見(還造成東西教會分裂)，
他認為三一論的內在關係是這樣：
Father: the lover
Son: the beloved
Spirit: the bond of love
以上是受到neoplatonism影響的三一詮釋，企圖把共相與殊相連結起來，
有些眼尖的人會注意到特土良在說子從父中分別出來時，
比較少提到聖靈。
連帶的，之後奧古斯丁在寫聖靈的時候，角色也有些曖昧。
有些神學家認為他這樣的內在三一關係裡聖靈是多餘，
父與子之間已經永恆共融了，並不需要再一個紐帶來連結。
這樣反而會讓聖靈去位格化，會從三一變成二一(咦？)

我認為三一論的立場有三種選擇:
1. 徹底倒向一
2. 徹底倒向三
3. 發明一堆名詞說的模模糊糊、不清不楚
西方教會的問題是在於發明了一堆名詞卻又想說的很清楚，
但是沒有這種選項XD
所以在外人看來，才會覺得都差不多，繞了一圈又是相同的結論。
